The Company


B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.


Position


Manager, Open Pit, Nunavut


Location and Reporting Structure


Reporting to the General Manager, Back River, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.


Responsibilities


  • Lead and supervise open pit mining crews to achieve production targets while fostering a high-performance, accountable work environment.
  • Champion and enforce a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards and driving continuous safety improvement initiatives.
  • Manage operations in alignment with approved budgets and mine plans, optimizing productivity and efficiency through best practices and effective workforce utilization.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of personnel, equipment, and operational performance, including regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Technical Services, Underground Mining, Maintenance) to ensure integrated, efficient, and conflict-free operations.
  • Contribute to short- and long-term planning by providing operational input, identifying risks and gaps, and ensuring teams are equipped with the tools, training, and systems required to perform safely and effectively.


Desired Competencies and Requirements


  • Ten (10) years of progressive open pit mining experience in leadership roles, including at least five (5) years managing supervisors of large crews (up to 100 personnel) in remote or Arctic environments (considered an asset).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (B.Eng.) or Geoscience (B.Sc.), or an equivalent combination of advanced mining leadership experience.
  • Valid Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) Level II Supervisor Certification and Nunavut Open Pit Certification.
  • Strong technical expertise in open pit mining operations (drill and blast, load and haul, heavy equipment fleets), with demonstrated ability to lead large teams and deliver safe, efficient production in remote site conditions.


Compensation and Benefits


For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $220,000.00 plus 20% bonus.


B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
