Job Summary

Make a difference in your community, by working at our veterinary clinic! The East Village Animal Hospital is run as a non-profit, serving low income families, animal rescues / shelters, and Trap Neuter Return programs.

Are you a self-motivated, positive person, who thrives in a very fast paced environment and who likes animals? We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Clinic Cleaner & Kennel Attendant to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our veterinary clinic and animal kennels. This role is vital in ensuring the health and well-being of our animals and providing a welcoming atmosphere for clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsible, and passionate about animal care. Tasks include but not limited to scrubbing and sanitizing kennels/cages, surgical instrument care + preparation, sorting and organizing supplies including donations, and working with the EVAH team to contribute to the overall operations of the Clinic as needed. You must have availability to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 11am-7pm, with some flexibility. Duties

  • Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of kennels, examination rooms, surgical areas, and common spaces to uphold hygiene standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of cages, bedding, and surrounding areas to prevent the spread of disease
  • Support staff by handling laundry tasks such as washing linens, towels, and animal bedding
  • Assist with donation & inventory management by organizing cleaning supplies and ensuring proper storage
  • Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and animal waste to ensure a safe environment for staff and animals

Skills

  • Prior laboratory experience is advantageous, providing familiarity with sterilization and sanitation protocols
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills to coordinate tasks with veterinary staff
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks and lift supplies or animals as needed

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
