Full job description
Ryan Company is growing our team and looking for a Business Development Manager to work with our clients across all sectors of business. This role is based in Greater Vancouver and reports to the Director of Business Development. Travel is expected in this role as you will be working with key clients and engaging new business across BC.
In this role you will:
- Be the primary point of contact for key clients, serving as the dedicated relationship lead and trusted advisor for key accounts and building long term strategic partnerships
- Grow the business within the business by proactively analyzing client requirements, uncovering opportunities to increase revenue or build new revenue streams, or identify and discuss constraints for revenue growth within the existing client base
- Focus on retention and renewals by actively leading strategic business reviews, proactively managing contract renewals and driving initiatives that maximize mutual return on investment
- Pursue and complete RFP’s, ensuring each proposal is tailored towards and meets the requirements of the prospective client. Provide pitches or presentations as required.
- Actively vet and pursue viable clients or areas of opportunity that align with ownership priorities to increase the company’s market saturation.
- Work with the service team in the set-up of new accounts to ensure required infrastructure is present. Ensure installations and activations of new accounts or locations are compliant and adhere to quality requirements
- Prioritize client deliverables alongside the operations manager, balancing clients needs against operational constraints
- Oversee account-specific administrative needs including billing, document checks, custom reporting, safety compliance
- Deliver regular reporting to their manager regarding pipeline and existing client status, areas of opportunity/constraints/risk, proposed solutions or progress on projects underway, custom reporting as required
Key competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain relationships
- Must understand customer relationship management (CRM)
- Strategic thinker and ability to analyze and solve problems
- Computer and number literate
- Must be a team player with the ability to work well with others
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
- Must be self-motivated, flexible and able to manage several jobs at one time
