An exciting and immediate career opportunity is currently available at WFCU Credit Union for a:

Financial Services Officer

Position Type: Vacant Position

Salary Range: $43,000 – $67,000

Work Location: In person

The Financial Services Officer is responsible for providing excellent service to our members.

In summary, the Financial Services Officer will:

  • Contribute to the success of the branch by achieving established sales, service, lending, and mortgage growth targets.
  • Provide expert financial advice by assessing member needs and recommending appropriate deposit, investment, lending, and mortgage solutions to support their financial goals.
  • Build and strengthen member relationships by identifying opportunities to expand lending portfolios, increase share of wallet, and deepen overall financial relationships.
  • Originate, process, and manage residential mortgage applications, including purchases, renewals, refinances, transfers, and home equity lending solutions.
  • Conduct thorough financial and credit analyses to assess borrowing capacity, evaluate risk, and make sound lending recommendations in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and process lending products, including mortgages, home equity lines of credit, personal loans, lines of credit, overdraft protection, and creditor insurance products.
  • Identify opportunities for mortgage retention, refinancing, debt consolidation, and cross-selling of complementary products and services to meet members' evolving financial needs.
  • Promote and process investment products, including GICs, RRSPs, RRIFs, FHSA and TFSAs, while providing proactive financial advice and guidance.
  • Develop new business opportunities through referrals, relationship development, branch campaigns, community involvement, and networking activities.
  • Manage the lending process from initial consultation through funding, ensuring a seamless member experience and timely follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, risk management standards, and regulatory requirements while delivering exceptional member service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

  • Completed post-secondary education
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills while working in a fast-paced environment

These additional skills are considered assets too:

  • Prior experience within the financial services industry
