Full job description

Work and adventure with us here on BC’s Sunshine Coast! This job is located in Egmont, British Columbia and applicants must be willing to relocate or reliably commute to our job site for this position.

We are looking for Housekeepers to join our team for the busy summer season at the resort. If you love variety in your work, you may love this job!

We are looking for staff with a positive attitude who love working as a team, and are willing to work hard while on shift. Enjoy all the outdoor activities that the Sunshine Coast has to offer. While we can’t guarantee that you’ll have fun – that part is up to you – we do have fun! We offer subsidized on-site accommodation and discounted meals while on shift.

Responsibilities:

· Create a welcoming and exceptional guest experience in all aspects of your work

· Perform housekeeping duties for cabins, guest rooms, and domes including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, scouring bathrooms, cleaning kitchenettes, changing sheets and towels, making beds, and ensuring accommodation units are neat and tidy

· Clean and maintain facilities including the washhouse, pub washrooms, and pub floors performing janitorial duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms

· Launder accommodation linen and ensure laundry room is clean and tidy

· Clean and disinfect all cleaning equipment at the end of workday

· Report accidents, problems or damage to the housekeeping supervisor in a prompt manner

· Ensure grounds are free from trash, litter, and debris

· Empty trash receptacles and ensure garbage and recycling areas are clean and locked

· Light yardwork such as planting and weeding garden beds, raking leaves, and mowing lawn

· Assist the Marina crew with fuel-ups

· Assist in additional departments at the resort as needed

· Other duties as required

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Valid Driver’s License preferred but not required

· Previous experience is an asset but not required

· Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting agents

· Strong attention to detail

· Team player with good communication skills

· Aptitude to follow instruction and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and guests

· Ability to solve problems, finding effective solutions in a fast-paced work environment

· Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a timely and productive manner

· Can work independently with minimal supervision

· Flexibility in scheduling needs and tasks with a willingness to assist in additional departments

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 45.0 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Sunshine Coast, BC: reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (required)
