Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Casual Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital, acute care, or senior care environments, with a strong background in patient-centered nursing practices. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in diverse clinical settings, including pediatrics, home care, assisted living, and dementia care. The successful applicant will utilize their expertise to support patient recovery, manage pain, and promote overall well-being while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Duties

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in hospital, outpatient, or home settings, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document clinical observations using electronic health records systems such as Epic and Cerner.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures including phlebotomy and specimen collection.
  • Provide specialized care for pediatric, senior, dementia, or chronic disease patients as required.
  • Educate patients and families on health management, medication use, and post-discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and documentation standards.
  • Support patient mobility and activities of daily living in assisted living or nursing home environments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

Skills

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Cerner.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and nursing best practices.
  • Experience in hospital acute care, pain management, case management, pediatrics, or senior/dementia care is highly desirable.
  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to diverse populations including children and elderly patients.
  • Laboratory experience including phlebotomy is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various clinical environments such as home health or assisted living facilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient safety protocols.
