Job description:

Little Galaxy is looking to hire a devoted individual with a positive attitude to work as a Site Director/Supervisor at our Mississauga location. The school follows the Montessori curriculum for children above 1.5 years and a regular program for the infants. The individual should have knowledge of both the programs to better assist staff and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that all legislative requirements are met
  • Follow the Child Care & Early Years Act Guidelines
  • Ensuring all Health department guidelines are being met
  • Keeping fire drill logs and ensuring all Fire Department guidelines are being met
  • Municipal by-laws
  • Occupational health & safety Act
  • Labor relations/Employment standards
  • Privacy laws
  • Prepare newsletters & bulletins
  • Offer tours of the site
  • Implement parent-teacher meetings
  • Address parent concerns
  • Ensure policies are being followed by the parents
  • Positive community relations
  • Attend meetings off-site
  • Network with community agencies
  • Access the changing needs of the community
  • Administrative duties
  • Manage Payroll and Fee submissions
  • Delegate tasks & responsibilities as and when required
  • Ensure classroom administration
  • Ensure Little Galaxy’s philosophy is reflected in the daily program
  • Organize field trips & workshops
  • Seek advice from other management staff
  • Responsible for providing up to date lists & requirements for supplies/equipment etc. on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance of staff
  • Responsible for maintaining and promoting professionalism
  • Ensure all staff performance reviews are completed on time
  • Provide ongoing constructive feedback
  • Provide support and guidance to staff
  • Co-ordinate supply staff & develop daily staff schedule & lunch schedule
  • Plan & implement regular staff meetings & assist staff in duties when necessary
  • Ensure staffing requirements are always met (holidays, sickness etc.)
  • Maintaining enrollment, updating centre projections bi-weekly
  • On-going communication with all the families
  • Maintain records of admission, withdrawal, vacation credit, waiting lists and any other pertinent items in the children’s files
  • Represent Little Galaxy to prospective parents, teachers, and the community
  • Host any events necessary for the families & children (like open houses, Birthday Barbeque, Winter concert etc.)
  • Meeting families’ needs
  • Have on-going interaction and communication with the families

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Bachelor of Education or Ontario Diploma in Early childhood education or equivalency or MACTE or AMI Casa/Preschool Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
  • Early childhood Administration & Supervisor program an asset.
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment an asset.
  • Must be able to work extended hours to participate in school activities, including parent evenings, Open Houses, concerts, and other school-sanctioned events
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C
  • Up to date Immunization Health Screening/Record (as per CCEYA guidelines)

Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to attend events, seminars, meetings as required.
  • Support and participation in fundraising events and all other events
  • Ability to manage relationships with parents on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the policies of Little Galaxy.
  • Excellent leadership qualities
  • Ability to serve on various committees and boards as required
  • Ability to manage a large staff of teachers, support staff, and others employed at the center.

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Supervising: 2 years (preferred)
