Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM — 2:30 PM

About the Role

This is a multi-functional production and material handling role supporting Automotive Manufacturer's assembly operations. The successful candidate will rotate across forklift operation, crane lift support, assembly line material flow, warehouse inventory handling, and dock operations throughout the week. Reliability, equipment competency, and a safety-first mindset are essential.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity. Successful candidates will complete a 90-day probationary period before transitioning into a full unionized position at $25.00/hour, with a contract renewal anticipated at the end of 2026 — at which point the hourly rate is expected to increase to at least $26.00/hr.

Primary Duties:

Forklift & Material Handling

  • Operate tugger forklift to transport skids, carts, and components from warehouse or dock to the assembly line
  • Operate counterbalance forklift for dock and yard material movement as required
  • Load and unload shipments safely and efficiently
  • Return empty skids and carts to dock and trailer positions
  • Move cab and box components for pickup truck assembly to and from dock and trailer positions
  • Move finished and picked products to appropriate auditing and staging areas
  • Assist with organizing warehouse layouts to optimize space and workflow

Crane & Assembly Line Support

  • Operate crane lift and overhead hoist to move parts onto the assembly line and remove completed parts off the line
  • Ensure parts are correctly and safely positioned during all crane lifts
  • Support assembly line continuity by ensuring components are available and staged at the right time
  • Communicate proactively with team leads regarding material levels, delays, or equipment issues

Inventory & Safety Compliance

  • Use inventory management systems to document and track all material moves
  • Support inventory control by ensuring accurate placement and movement of stock throughout the facility
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs
  • Follow OSHA and company safety and quality guidelines for handling automotive parts and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around the line and dock at all times

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass in-house forklift operator safety and operational certifications
  • Previous experience in warehouse, automotive parts handling, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with inventory management systems an asset
  • Ability to read assembly line flow and anticipate material needs proactively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe equipment operation at all times
  • Good communication skills and team-first mentality
  • Experience operating Tugger Forklifts, Counterbalance, and or Raymond Reach trucks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sustained standing, walking, and physical activity for the duration of the shift
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and maneuvering around equipment and assembly line stations
  • Must be capable of safely operating heavy equipment for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move heavy automotive parts and materials
  • Ability to maintain focus and pace in a high-output production environment

SHIFT & SCHEDULE

  • Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM — 2:30 PM
  • Overtime may be available and required during peak production periods
  • Consistent attendance is essential to role performance and temp-to-perm eligibility

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
