About the Role

RIC Electronics is seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to manage production scheduling, material planning, and order execution for our custom-engineered power systems, battery chargers, UPS systems, and energy storage products.

This role is responsible for coordinating customer orders from engineering release through production and shipment, ensuring materials, subassemblies, and manufacturing resources are available to meet delivery commitments. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production, and Sales to maintain an accurate production schedule and support on-time customer deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule for all active customer orders.
  • Plan and track materials, purchased components, in-house manufactured subassemblies, and outsourced assemblies.
  • Manage ERP/MRP planning activities to ensure material availability and production readiness.
  • Monitor production capacity, labour loading, and schedule adherence.
  • Identify material shortages, schedule risks, and production bottlenecks before they impact customer deliveries.
  • Coordinate priorities across Engineering, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production, and Sales.
  • Maintain visibility of project status, production schedules, and delivery commitments.
  • Generate planning and performance reports to support operational decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement of planning, scheduling, and inventory control processes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of production planning, master scheduling, materials planning, or manufacturing operations experience.
  • Strong ERP/MRP experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Bills of Material (BOMs), inventory control, capacity planning, and production scheduling.
  • Experience in custom manufacturing, electrical equipment, industrial equipment, or engineer-to-order environments is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
