Procurement Specialist (12 Month Contract)

Description:

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible to purchase and expedite the receipt of material goods at the best price, terms and delivery schedule according to instructions, experience and knowledge of production need. Will assist in maintaining inventories at desired levels; provide price quotations for MRO supplies, non-routine materials, etc. to meet the demands of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for purchasing and expediting the receipt of materials for production orders, MRO supplies that meet the required quantity and quality expectations.
  • Facilitate the purchase of capital items and/or support services.
  • Manages all back orders, late or short deliveries. Protects production in an effective manner.
  • Reviews past due shipments, updates Netsuite to ensure due date is accurate.
  • Oversee raw component replenishment requirements (Kanban system) to help implement kanban board.
  • Review and verify discrepancies between Purchase orders and Order confirmations and ensure Netsuite is updated and accurate. Ie. Pricing, lead times etc.
  • Validates packing slips and matches to Purchase order and files documentation appropriately.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Material Management field, Purchasing or Supply Chain Management.
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task and schedule priorities.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and the ability to process confidential and controlled information.
  • Effective problem-solving; ability to solve complex problems independently and quickly.
  • Self-confidence and ability to manage own activities.
  • Excellent mathematical and data entry skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to computer systems / applications.
  • Able to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment and responds to sense of urgency.
  • Professional and clear communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Strong organization skills and highly detail oriented.
  • Influential interpersonal skills that build positive and strong relationships at all levels of the organization.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
