Behavioural Therapist

Spectrum Learning Centre

Spectrum Learning Centre, a renowned organization specializing in social services for youth, is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting the stabilization and successful transition of children and youth in our LBSTSC Services through the implementation of effective behavioural strategies and interventions.

Expectations/Potential Duties:

  • Support the development of the SHSS Service Plan in collaboration with the child or youth and their SHSS Care Circle.
  • Assist in the development of plans for each child’s/youth’s stabilization and transition out of the LBSTSC Services.
  • Provide functional behavioural assessments, identify needs, and develop goals/strategies, while also providing consultation and liaison with various community agencies, schools, hospitals, and Ministry programs.
  • Design behavioural plans for crisis mitigation and stabilization, ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients.
  • Develop and maintain behavioural intervention strategies and programs for children/youth and families, providing necessary training to parents/Guardians, caregivers, Out-of-Care providers, and other service providers in the SHSS Program.
  • Support individuals and groups in achieving more effective personal, social, and vocational development.
  • Deliver training sessions to Service Provider Personnel, parents/Guardians, caregivers, Out-of-Care providers, and other service providers in the SHSS Program to facilitate the successful implementation of individualized plans for children and youth.
  • Stay abreast of the latest literature and research in the field, providing up-to-date best practice information to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must be in good standing with a professional college, if eligible.

Additional on-call staff and relief staff may be accessed through the Supplemental Supports approval process outlined in the Policies and Standards.
