Full job description

Your value

As an Overhaul Technician, your attention to detail at the front end of the overhaul process sets the standard for everything that follows. Through accurate cleaning, inspection and non-destructive testing, you ensure components move downstream fit-for-purpose, free of defects, rework or delays. Your work directly protects quality, turnaround time and safety, supporting Maddex Turbine Services (part of Rotation Group) to deliver reliable turbine overhauls every time.

If you take pride in doing foundational work properly, enjoy hands-on inspection and processing and want to build capability in a highly specialised, precision-driven environment, this position is for you. Be actively involved in the overhaul processes for various aeroderivative and light industrial gas turbines.

What you’ll do

  • Support our senior specialists to meticulously disassemble, inspect, reassemble and test gas turbines, following strict quality and safety protocols.
  • Perform NDT (non-destructive tests) using fluorescent dye penetrant to identify part defects.
  • Prepare components through cleaning, inspection, and processing to standard.
  • Ensure parts are ready for downstream work with no rework or delays.
  • Support disassembly and assembly activities as required.
  • Accurately record inspection and NDT results for quality and traceability.
  • Identify issues early and escalate anything impacting quality or flow.
  • Contribute to improving inspection and front-end workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and workmanship.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

What we’re looking for

  • Hands-on mechanical experience in overhaul, maintenance, or heavy equipment environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
  • Proven track record of reliability and punctuality in a work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Experience working in an environment where reliability, cleanliness and organization were expected standards.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Experience & Qualifications

You should meet most but not necessarily all of the below:

  • Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Technology or related field.
  • Hands-on mechanical experience in overhaul, maintenance, or heavy equipment environments.
  • Exposure to gas turbines, engines, or rotating equipment.
  • Practical experience with NDT methods.
  • CGSB Level 2 Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT2) certification.

Work Location

We’re located in Fort St John, British Columbia, and opportunities may arise to work on customer sites when required. Relocation support may be available for candidates within Canada. Please note that applicants must have the right to work in Canada, as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship or cover international relocation costs.

Hours

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Optional overtime when available.
