About Us:

Range Road Contracting & Consulting Inc. is a growing civil earthworks and infrastructure contractor based in the Calgary area. We deliver a wide range of projects including:

  • Civil infrastructure projects
  • Schools and institutional developments
  • Warehouses and logistics facilities
  • Full industrial yard development
  • Yard maintenance and upgrades
  • Parks Canada upgrades and specialty work.

We are a newer company with strong momentum and an expanding portfolio. This is a ground-floor opportunity for an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to play a key role in how our projects are priced, managed, and delivered as we continue to grow.

The Role

We are seeking a Project Manager / Estimator with proven civil earthworks and infrastructure experience. This is a hybrid role responsible for estimating, project execution, and cost control from bid through project close-out.

You will work closely with ownership, field leadership, and site crews and will be involved in real decision-making — not siloed office work.

Tools & Technology

We use top-tier industry software to support estimating and project delivery, including:

  • B2W Estimate
  • InSite Elevation Pro

Experience with these platforms is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

  • Prepare detailed estimates for civil earthworks and infrastructure scopes
  • Complete takeoffs and quantity calculations
  • Develop scopes, assumptions, exclusions, and bid clarifications
  • Build estimates covering equipment, trucking, labour, and subcontractors
  • Support bid submissions and post-bid clarifications

Project Management

  • Manage projects from award through completion
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, trucking, and subcontractors
  • Track quantities, production rates, and job costs
  • Manage change orders, progress billing, and cost reporting
  • Communicate with general contractors, consultants, and owners

Field Coordination

  • Work closely with foremen and operators
  • Support younger, fast-paced field crews
  • Assist with issue resolution and site coordination as required
  • Support safety documentation and compliance

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Proven experience in civil earthworks and infrastructure
  • Background in earthworks and civil estimating and/or project management
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment, trucking, and production rates
  • Comfortable working with field teams and site personnel
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Assets

  • Experience with B2W and/or InSite Elevation Pro
  • Experience on schools, warehouses, industrial yards, or public-sector projects
  • Familiarity with construction safety programs and documentation

Salary is negotiable for the right candidate with strong civil earthworks experience.

Work Environment

This position is based out of our yard / office with regular site visits as required.

Why Join Range Road?

  • Get in on the ground floor of a growing civil contractor
  • Direct access to ownership and decision-making
  • Diverse mix of private and public-sector projects
  • Modern estimating and project management systems
  • Clear long-term growth opportunities
