Full job description

Makloc located in Nisku, Alberta is looking for a Project Manager to join our team. The role will encompass the following responsibilities (including but not limited to):

General

  • Possess a strong understanding of project life cycle and processes related to construction projects.
  • Monitor project schedules.
  • Submit RFI’s and Change Orders in a timely manner.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
  • Prepare progress reports and present as required (monthly/weekly project meetings).
  • Review and confirm progress payments.
  • Monitor budget status.
  • Monitor site activity for compliance with all plans, specifications, codes and Quality Assurance.
  • Instruct document control on submissions and turnover documents.

Communication and Supervision

  • Coordinate RFI's, questions and other information with consultants including designating tasks and following up on requests, demands, questions, concerns etc.
  • Coordinate change information with trades.
  • Update the Director of Projects with progress.
  • Ensure efficient flow of project through the construction/manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure corporate safety programs and documents are maintained throughout the project by all site staff and subcontractors.

Contract Administration

  • Administration of site instructions, field orders and change orders.
  • Monitoring and updating of construction schedules.
  • Conduct site/virtual meetings, visits and resolve issues.
  • Review submittals and coordinate information with consultants and trades.
  • Instruct procurement on required purchase orders.
  • Review and approve invoices.
  • This position will take on other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Post secondary Diploma and/or degree required; Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • PMP, Gold Seal or CET designation are highly considered an asset
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a construction coordination or project management role
  • Metal Building Experience preferred.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation REQUIRED. Driver’s abstract required to operate Makloc Fleet.
  • Strong computer skills (word, excel, project and a general understanding of operating misc. programs)
  • Combination of inside and outside work as required by the project team. 90% of the position will be internal from the office.

Schedule

  • 8.5 Hours Monday through Thursday
  • 8 Hours on Fridays, with every 4th Friday as a Day Off (Earned Day Off)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
