Full job description

We are seeking a Project Coordinator based in Edmonton to support multi-family and commercial construction projects across Edmonton and the surrounding region. This role works closely with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent and is primarily administrative, with opportunities for regular involvement on active job sites.

The Project Coordinator supports project coordination, documentation, and communication, assists with planning and scheduling, and helps ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. This role will be given increasing responsibility over time, with the opportunity to take ownership of key project components and contribute more directly to project delivery.

This position is well suited to someone who is organized, proactive, and interested in developing a long-term career in construction management, with a clear pathway toward a Project Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

Field & Site Coordination

  • Work closely with the Site Superintendent to support daily site operations on multi-family and commercial projects
  • Maintain regular on-site presence to assist with coordination of trades, deliveries, and work sequencing
  • Support site logistics, material flow, and short-term planning
  • Assist with site documentation, inspections, and tracking of work progress

Project Coordination & Administration

  • Assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent with planning, scheduling, and coordination of construction activities
  • Track milestones, deadlines, and daily/weekly priorities
  • Maintain and organize project documentation including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, contracts, purchase orders, and change documentation
  • Support cost tracking, procurement, and reporting activities

Communication & Meetings

  • Act as a point of coordination between the field team, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and office staff
  • Attend site meetings and coordination meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes as required
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, and documentation flow through Procore

Quality & Safety Support

  • Support implementation of site safety plans and company safety policies
  • Assist with quality control activities and monitoring of workmanship
  • Identify issues or risks and escalate them to the Site Superintendent or Project Manager

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong understanding of construction site operations and workflows
  • Knowledge of multi-family and commercial construction practices is an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with superintendents, trades, consultants, and project teams
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Comfortable working in an active construction site environment

Software & Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficiency in Procore Construction Management software
  • Experience using project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project and/or Smartsheet
  • Familiarity with digital documentation and site reporting tools

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field is an asset
  • Previous experience in a field-facing project coordination or construction role is preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn
