Full Stack Developer

Opportunity:

WeVend is currently seeking a Full Stack Developer to perform development activities for new functions/features, do routine maintenance, provide production support, as well as DevOps as needed, for the WeVend Payments Gateway, as well as other Business Applications and Portals.

This position is based at our head office location in North York, ON. WeVend is a Fintech, IoT and payment device solutions provider, enabling seamless device control and payments technologies for targeted retail verticals.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with Solutions Architects, third-party providers, and product managers to create new application functions and features that are optimized and secure
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to meet new payments functionality for certifications, as well as various business-vertical requirements
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and documentation of applications for Releases to QA Team
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, security requirements, and technologies, including AI Platforms, to ensure best practices are implemented to protect WeVend and our customers Data
  • Design, develop, and maintain payment gateway integrations to Third Party Platforms to support transaction processing, loyalty, fleet, etc.
  • Perform DevOps duties as required, including code deployment (auto or manual), build/monitor, and respond to System and Application alerts, improve optimization and scalability of AWS platforms, implement security best practices, AI Tools adoption
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools and services to improve development efficiency, code quality, testing, and operational insights
  • Troubleshoot assigned application bugs and determine/implement resolutions
  • Meet established commitments and plan personal work responsibly

What This Role Requires:

  • An individual with critical thinking, problem-solving, and resolution skills, with a high attention to detail, can understand technical and business requirements documents, as well as explain to non-technical resources.

  • Individual with an eagerness to research and learn in a self-directed way
  • A strong team player who works well with a wide range of people across the business, customer base, and WeVend partnerships

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer delivery optimized and secure Web-based Applications
  • Proven experience delivering secure gateway payment applications for e-commerce, terminal transaction processing, third party integrations, and certifications to established Processors/Card Networks/PCI
  • Strong development skills in JavaScript, Typescript, NodeJS, Non-SQL DB, JSON, REST APIs, and AWS Cloud infrastructure
  • Strong experience working with AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, KMS, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.
  • Proven experience using code versioning and automated code deploy tools and platforms
  • Experience utilizing AI tools or services in a professional setting for development acceleration, analysis, monitoring, or automation
  • Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to create technical documentation and release notes
