Job Description:

We are seeking an Obsolescence Specialist to join our team. The Obsolescence Specialist provides Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) engineering and analysis with an emphasis on software application-level obsolescence, including logistic support analysis, dependability, maintenance planning, technical documentation, publications, and training for obsolescence concerns.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of the Obsolescence Management Plan and related obsolescence forecasting activities.
  • Contribute to the Obsolescence Management Plan for software application-level obsolescence concerns.
  • Investigate, collaboratively define, and develop a centralized list of high-level software dependencies for a prioritized list of Configuration Items (CIs) documented in the System Breakdown Structure (SBS). High-level software dependencies may include, but are not limited to, versions of Java supported, versions of Operating Software (OS) supported, and any additional major dependencies identified in the software obsolescence roadmap.
  • Track obsolescence information, which may include, but is not limited to, software application version up-rev cycles, software application patching cycles, upcoming changes to licensing models, and obsolescence waivers.
  • Maintain traceability between the obsolescence report and the approved Configuration Item.
  • Research and track software obsolescence risk for assigned Configuration Items (CIs), including end-of-life and end-of-support timelines.
  • Identify emerging obsolescence trends and escalate high-priority obsolescence risks to the Obsolescence Working Group.
  • Maintain traceability and documentation across obsolescence risk assessments and mitigation artifacts.
  • Support Configuration and Data Management audits, ensuring obsolescence data remains accurate and current.
  • Maintain and contribute to obsolescence tracking artifacts and support Obsolescence Working Group activities within the Collaborative Work Environment (CWE), ensuring compliance with stakeholder-defined formatting, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in obsolescence risk review meetings and provide input on assigned mitigation deliverables.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of approved obsolescence mitigation and waiver actions.
  • Prepare and update obsolescence status reports and client-facing documentation as required.
  • Attend monthly Obsolescence Meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of obsolescence processes.
  • Apply Integrated Logistic Support Analysis methods to help identify, assess, and mitigate obsolescence issues across the system lifecycle.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, refinement, and reviews, to support obsolescence tracking within the program schedule.
  • Perform other obsolescence-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to be vetted as part of the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or demonstrated experience performing Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) activities.
  • Proficiency in Excel data management.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong systems thinking.
  • In-depth knowledge of application licensing methods.
  • Expertise in version control and change management.
  • Ability to work with and maintain legacy systems.
  • Experience managing relationships with software vendors.
  • Expertise in infrastructure software frameworks and their deployment (Java, .NET, virtualization technologies).
  • Strong computer literacy with proven experience with Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential.
  • Experience interfacing between various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Experience within procurement, finance, project management, or warehouse environments is desirable.
  • Language: English (essential).

Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
