Position: Lead, Program Standards
Role:
- Reporting to the Director, Credentialing Program, the Lead provides and oversees service delivery to customers, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience for nurses, employers, and partners. The Lead is also responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the policies, standards and operating procedures that guide the Credentialing Centre Programs. The role works collaboratively across CNA departments to integrate policy development with program design, evaluation, and client engagement.
This role ensures that the Certification, Accreditation, and Stellar Certification programs at CNA remain credible, evidence-informed, and aligned with CNA’s strategic priorities, Code of Ethics, and regulatory context while also meeting the needs and expectations of the clients receiving CNA services. This role is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee customer experience and service excellence design across all service channels
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of program standards, policies, and operating procedures of the credentialing centre.
- Support the evaluation and continuous improvement of the certification, accreditation, and stellar programs.
- Lead and coordinate advisory groups, expert panels, and other committees to inform the ongoing development and validation of credentialing standards, competencies, and assessment frameworks.
- Translate insights from advisory groups and consultations into recommendations for policy, standards, and program enhancements.
- Ensure an exceptional client experience for nurses, employers, and partners.
- Review certification, stellar certification and accreditation renewals to ensure alignment with established standards, eligibility criteria, and evidence-informed practice.
- Monitor renewal outcomes and trends to identify opportunities for policy, process, or standards enhancement.
- Ensure the maintenance, accuracy, and confidentiality of applicant and volunteer program databases.
- Conduct environmental scans, literature reviews, and policy analysis to support evidence-informed decision-making.
- Writes reports, papers, correspondence and responses to specific inquiries, in preparation for meetings and on issues in support of CNA’s credentialing centre goals.
- Represent CNA in external forums, conferences, and events to advance visibility and reputation within the nursing and healthcare sectors.
- Work in partnership with the Lead, Business Development to support client engagement, proposal development, and relationship management, while ensuring alignment between business growth, quality standards, and client service excellence.
- Participates in or leads cross functional teams for CNA
- Requires travel (5% of time)
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing, health administration or public administration
- Regulated nurse
- Minimum five (5) years of proven experience in various nursing roles
- Strong background in nursing (practice, education, research, administration or policy)
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to work independently and provide leadership in a team environment
- Current knowledge of professional and regulatory issues in Canada
- Demonstrated analytic skills using logical, evaluative, and professional thinking to defined problems, collect information, establish facts and develop valid solutions
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong computer skills and comfort with technology
- Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
- Ability to conduct meetings and briefings as well as facilitate group discussion
- Ability to multi-task and handle competing pressures
Desirable qualifications:
- A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in health services delivery, quality improvement, education or program management
- Demonstrated success in program development, standard development and stakeholder engagement
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, providing leadership within a team environment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, using logical and evaluative thinking to define problems, gather information, establish facts, and develop sound solutions.
- Strong computer literacy and comfort with digital tools and platforms.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to support marketing and outreach activities, including clear, compelling communication aligned with organizational branding and priorities.
- Ability to conduct meetings and briefings, and to facilitate group discussions with clarity, confidence, and professionalism.
- Strong customer service orientation
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French
