The Manager, Projects leads the planning, coordination, and readiness of refurbishment work to support safe, predictable, and efficient project execution. Key Accountabilities
- Lead Integrated Work Management Planning: Lead the development and execution of integrated work-management strategies for refurbishment scope, ensuring work is properly defined, prioritized, sequenced, and aligned with station outage and project milestones.
- Manage Project Scope, Schedule, and Readiness: Oversee planning and readiness of assigned refurbishment work packages, including scope definition, work order quality, materials availability, engineering inputs, permits, access requirements, and execution constraints.
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Stakeholders: Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, Radiation Protection, Nuclear Safety, Quality, Project Controls, and contractors to resolve interfaces and ensure work can proceed safely and efficiently.
- Drive Schedule Performance and Constraint Removal: Monitor critical-path activities, emerging schedule risks, backlog, and productivity performance; lead timely escalation and removal of constraints affecting planned work execution.
- Ensure Excellence in Nuclear Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Reinforce a strong nuclear safety culture and ensure all work-management activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, station procedures, quality standards, ALARA principles, and environmental obligations.
- Provide Leadership to the Work Management Team: Lead, coach, and develop project and work-management personnel; establish clear accountabilities, performance expectations, and succession capability while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Optimize Work Processes and Digital Tools: Champion continuous improvement in work planning, scheduling, reporting, and governance processes. Use performance data and work-management systems to improve work package quality, predictability, and execution efficiency.
- Manage Performance Reporting, Risk, and Governance: Establish and maintain effective project controls, including status reporting, key performance indicators, risk registers, recovery plans, and management reviews. Provide clear, timely updates to senior leadership on progress, issues, decisions, and forecast outcomes.
Qualifications

- Experience supporting large, complex refurbishment, outage, construction, or asset-management programs, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against demanding schedule commitments.
- Proven commitment to safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in a high-hazard or highly regulated operational environment.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence decisions, resolve cross-functional issues, and provide clear updates to senior leadership.

Join OPG and make history.
The Darlington New Nuclear Project is leading the way in the advancement of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology in Canada – the future of nuclear power generation! Using new and innovative technologies such as small modular reactors, hydrogen and battery storage, while expanding our hydroelectric and nuclear portfolios, we are changing the electricity landscape in Ontario.
Important Information
The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods. Maintaining a high-performance culture and excellence is a core expectation of every member of our leadership team and is rewarded through the established compensation framework.
OPG is committed to employment equity. As such, we encourage applicants from equity-seeking communities (Indigenous Peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, and women). We strongly believe that alleviating the under-representation of equity-seeking individuals will create a stronger OPG team and allow us to better serve the needs of our diverse communities.
In order to fulfill the above-mentioned purpose, priority in hiring may be given to qualified persons who self-identify as a member of equity-seeking groups as identified in the application process. This initiative constitutes a special program under the Human Rights Code/Canadian Human Rights Act.
All job postings at OPG are to fill existing vacancies within our organization.
OPG may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools as part of the applicant screening process. However, applications will also be reviewed by a member of our Recruitment team to ensure a fair and thorough assessment.
Please submit your application online at https://jobs.opg.com/. OPG thanks all those who apply; however, only candidates considered for an interview will be contacted.
