Full job description

Production Operator II(Miramichi)

Job Purpose:

The Production Operator II ( Labourer) follows instructions from the Lead Hand, Supervisor or Coordinator to ensure that specific production requirements are met.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Quality:

· Read, understand and follow work/assembly instructions as required for the job.

· Consistently meet all specifications and standards in production as they relate to the job.

· Perform visual inspections to ensure quality standards are met.

General Duties:

  • Wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment.
  • Use required tools properly and maintain them to prevent damage.
  • Report broken or damaged tools/machinery promptly.
  • Adhere to all applicable environmental and health and safety regulations as they apply to the job.

Experience:

· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset

· Experience using a variety of hand tools and power tools

Education/Professional Certification:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

Skills:

· Proven ability to work well with others or independently with minimal supervision

· Manual dexterity and physical strength to lift heavy objects(up to 50 lbs)

· Good communication skills

· Strong problem solving skills

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

· Capable of performing in a high-volume production facility

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

May require the following:

· Day shift - Monday to Thursday - 10 hour shift(4 days/week) -(6:00 AM Start)

· Standing for long periods of time

· Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs)

· Repetitive tasks

· Working in warm/hot temperatures

· Dusty environment

· Noisy environment
