We are currently seeking a dynamic leader for our fast-paced production facility.

Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of Top Shelf Closets & Glass manufacturing operations. Reporting to the General Manager of Top Shelf Closets & Glass and the Chief Operating Officer of Clear Path, this position oversees all production activities across multiple product lines while ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.

The Production Manager is accountable for developing people, improving systems, eliminating waste, and creating a culture of operational excellence. The role provides direct leadership to approximately 23 employees and is responsible for all aspects of workforce leadership, including hiring, performance review, employee development, discipline, and termination decisions.

Production Operations

  • Lead all daily manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, and shipping activities.
  • Develop production schedules and allocate resources to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor workflow across all departments and address bottlenecks proactively.
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards, and efficiency goals are consistently achieved.
  • Coordinate priorities with project coordinators, installation teams, and management.
  • Maintain accurate production status reporting and communicate progress regularly.

People Leadership & Accountability

  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train team members.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees and supervisors.
  • Conduct performance reviews and establish development plans.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Administer disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
  • Make staffing decisions including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure staffing levels align with production requirements.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Implement quality control procedures throughout all production departments.
  • Investigate production errors and implement corrective actions.
  • Reduce waste, rework, and defects through process improvement.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections.
  • Assist in incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure employees receive proper safety training and equipment.

Asset & Facility Management

  • Oversee maintenance of production equipment, machinery, and facility assets.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance programs.
  • Manage relationships with equipment vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Ensure the facility, warehouse, yard, and loading areas remain organized, safe, and operational.
  • Support capital equipment planning and facility improvement initiatives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Lean Production methods where appropriate.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and develop improvement plans.
  • Support growth through scalable operational processes.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience leading teams of 20+ employees.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and workflow management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production management systems.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

  • Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in glass fabrication, cabinetry manufacturing, millwork, construction products, or custom manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of CNC equipment, edge banders, glass processing equipment, and related production machinery.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Lean Production methods, continuous improvement initiatives, or similar operational excellence programs.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP Business One.

Pay: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
