PRODUCTION MANAGER

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite (Salary)

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 10 am – 7 pm

Annual Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 per year, commensurate with experience

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Canfisco Group is a long-established leader in the commercial fishing industry, with 120 years of history. We harvest, process, and market sustainable seafood products to customers in more than 40 countries worldwide.

Our company is a vertically integrated business with operations in British Columbia, Washington State, and Alaska. During the peak season, we employ more than 3,900 employees and fish harvesters.

Our Delta Plant is a fast-paced manufacturing facility that produces a high volume of seafood products year-round, including fresh, frozen, and value-added offerings. To support our continued growth, we are seeking a dynamic Production Manager to join the Delta management team.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As the Production Manager, you will assist the Operations Manager in coordinating and managing the plant's complex, ever-changing daily operations. This is a hands-on leadership role that works closely with shift supervisors to ensure daily production, product quality, and food safety goals are met.

The role also involves making real-time decisions on the production floor and reinforcing a strong food safety culture. Training and mentoring will be provided to support a successful transition into the role.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

o Hands‑on, practical leader who enjoys being present on the production floor (time split 70% on the production floor, 30% in the office).

o Adaptable and responsive in a fast-changing environment.

o Committed to following through and getting the job done.

o Clear communicator with supervisor and frontline employees

o Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Assist in planning daily production for multiple operations.

o Establish priorities and determine the sequence of fish to be processed.

o Ensure optimal production, minimal downtime, and best utilization of equipment and available labour.

o Collect, maintain, and analyze production data and prepare reports as needed.

o Assist with the logistics of all incoming raw materials and outgoing products.

o Work closely with shift supervisors and lead hands to ensure safe and efficient daily operations.

o Ensure the company’s quality, food safety, and production standards are met at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

o Post-secondary education in business, operations management, or a related field.

o 3-5+ years of related operations experience in food manufacturing is required.

o Supervisory experience leading a small team is required.

o Experience in food manufacturing or seafood processing is an asset.

o Budgeting, planning, and resource allocation experience is required.

o Ability to cultivate effective working relationships.

o Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse team.

o Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

o Willingness to work overtime and weekend hours if needed.

o Access to a vehicle required.
