Our client is seeking an energetic and entrepreneurial Fitness and Recreation Manager to lead the growth and operations of a large fitness and wellness facility.

This is a hands on leadership opportunity for someone who can develop engaging programs, build community partnerships, increase membership, and drive sustainable revenue. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations while helping establish the facility as a leading destination for fitness, recreation, sports, and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the facility
  • Increase membership, community participation, revenue, and profitability
  • Create fitness, wellness, recreation, sports, and community programming
  • Build partnerships with businesses, athletic organizations, institutions, and community groups
  • Negotiate agreements with instructors, program providers, and external partners
  • Lead employees, trainers, instructors, and collaborators
  • Oversee scheduling, customer service, safety, cleanliness, and daily operations
  • Develop marketing, member engagement, and retention strategies
  • Manage budgets, expenses, forecasts, and performance indicators

Qualifications:

  • Management experience in fitness, wellness, tourism, recreation, sports, hospitality, or entertainment
  • Proven success growing programs, memberships, partnerships, or revenue
  • Strong business development, sales, and negotiation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and improve operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and community engagement abilities
  • Experience with resorts, fitness centres, sports complexes is ideal
  • Bilingualism in French and English is a strong asset, conversational French is mandatory
