Overview
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic tutors to provide academic support and mentorship to students across all subjects (Math, Science, Social, English/ELA, French/FLA) in Edmonton and Area (Sherwood Park, St Albert, Beaumont, Fort Saskatchewan, etc).

This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys by fostering understanding, confidence, and a love for learning. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for teaching. Prior experience working with children or in classroom settings is highly valued.

Duties

  • Host personalized tutoring sessions to students in specific subject areas, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning styles.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
  • Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to help improve their skills.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student confidence and motivation.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school staff to support student success, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, attendance, and student progress.
  • Stay informed about educational best practices and continuously improve tutoring techniques.

Qualifications

  • In pursuit of, or hold, a Bachelor of Education (BEd), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin), Bachelor of Commerce (BComm), or similar.
  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably with classroom experience.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey concepts and motivate students.
  • Ability to work well with children of varying ages and learning abilities.
  • Knowledge of subject matter relevant to the tutoring areas offered.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for education.
  • Reliable, responsible, and committed to helping students achieve their academic goals. This position provides an enriching opportunity for individuals passionate about education to support student growth while developing their teaching skills in a rewarding environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • A recent Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Clearance, is required.
