Salesforce Data Cloud

Role Overview

The Data Cloud Architect serves as the senior technical authority for the Identity Resolution program. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing the end-to-end Salesforce Data Cloud solution.

As a client-facing leader, the Architect brings deep, hands-on experience delivering enterprise-scale Data Cloud implementations. They define and oversee identity resolution strategies—spanning deterministic, probabilistic, and household-level matching—ensuring the solution is scalable, technically robust, and production-ready for large customer data volumes.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

• Design end-to-end Salesforce Data Cloud architecture, including:

  • Unified profile schema

  • Data Model Objects (DMOs) and Data Lake Objects (DLOs)

  • Identity resolution frameworks

• Develop matching strategies covering:

  • Deterministic matching (e.g., email, phone, loyalty ID)

  • Fuzzy/normalized matching techniques

  • Probabilistic scoring for incomplete or low-signal data

Identity Resolution Strategy

• Define and govern identity resolution strategies in complex, multi-source retail environments

• Establish rules for prioritizing, weighting, and reconciling identifiers from:

  • Loyalty systems

  • POS systems

  • E-commerce platforms

  • Digital and behavioral channels

• Ensure creation of a single, authoritative customer profile

Matching & Data Quality Optimization

• Configure and validate match rule thresholds in Data Cloud

• Balance precision (minimizing false merges) with recall (maximizing identity graph coverage)

• Design and implement household-level identity grouping strategies using shared signals (e.g., address, device, payments)

Data Integration & Ingestion

• Architect scalable ingestion patterns, including batch and near-real-time pipelines

• Define source-to-target mapping standards across all data sources

• Optimize Data Service Credit usage through efficient ingestion and processing strategies

Technical Governance

• Establish and enforce governance standards for delivery teams, including:

  • Architecture decision records (ADRs)

  • Integration design patterns

  • Naming conventions

  • Data quality thresholds

• Lead configuration reviews and provide sign-off prior to UAT and production releases

Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead technical workshops and solutioning sessions with client stakeholders across IT, data engineering, and analytics

• Translate business requirements into detailed Data Cloud configurations and integration designs

Performance Measurement & Optimization

• Define and track identity resolution KPIs, including:

  • Deterministic match rates

  • Overall resolution rates

  • Household linkage rates

• Establish measurement methodologies to continuously assess identity graph quality

Cost & Consumption Management

• Monitor and optimize Data Cloud credit consumption

• Define ingestion frequency, profile unification cadence, and segmentation refresh cycles

• Ensure cost efficiency as data volume, complexity, and use cases scale

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $29.90/hour - $46.71/hour. Our offered benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
