Full job description

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for the manufacturing of products through moulding, assembly, inspection or other processes. Duties may include product handling, inspection, rework, packaging or others as required. The machine operator is responsible to ensure products meet all quality specifications while meeting productivity objectives.

Responsibilities include:

· Handling finished goods from machine to packaging

· Loading inserts/components or other items into moulds, fixtures, or equipment.

· Handling sprues, runners, parts, inserts, components

· Identifying, operating, and loading of granulators

· Packaging, labelling and palletizing of finished goods

· Inspection of finished goods and assemblies

· Maintaining good housekeeping of work areas and facility

· Accurate completion of production records

· Attending/participating in meetings when required

· Accurate completion of quality control records

· Organizing and setup of workstations

· Accurate recording of necessary process information

· Notifying supervisor and Quality department of non-conforming products and processes.

· Moving finished goods, packaging materials, components to and from work station

· Inspecting, validating, or certifying of products

· Assembling products

· Participating in training/cross training

· Printing and applying of labels

· Covering other workstations at breaktime

· Trimming of gates, flash, and reworking products

· Identifying non-conforming products and processes

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

· Excellent decision making and judgement

· Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Effective communication skills, verbal and written

· Ability to handle multiple workstations

· Ability to work in a team or individually

· Experience in a quality sensitive environment

· Ability to use tools, fixtures and equipment

· Ability to follow rules, regulations and procedures

· Reliability and punctuality

· High school diploma, GED or equivalent

Working Conditions

· Factory floor environment

· Fast paced, time sensitive, goal-oriented environment

· May be working at one or multiple workstations

· Working around and with machinery, tools, inspection and poke yoke fixtures and equipment

· Wearing of safety equipment such as safety shoes, earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, etc.

· Shiftwork as scheduled, overtime as required
