Full job description

Delivery Truck Driver

G.E. Silliker & Sons Limited (operating as Silliker Glass) is a third-generation, family-owned glass manufacturing and aluminum fabrication company headquartered in Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island. The company was founded in the early 1960s by G.E. (“Ed”) Silliker as a contracting business and, by 1965, had refined its focus to specialize in glass and storefront installations. In 1981, ownership transitioned to Ed’s sons, Ron and Stacy Silliker, and the company was incorporated as G.E. Silliker & Sons Limited. Following Ron’s retirement in 2014, the company is now owned by Stacy Silliker and his son, Matt Silliker, with Matt actively serving as Chief Executive Officer and majority shareholder. Silliker Glass employs nearly 100 people and operates as a multi-location manufacturer with more than 150,000 square feet of production facilities across Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. The company serves customers throughout Atlantic Canada and the New England States.

Monday to Friday. Most customer locations open 8am-5pm to receive deliveries. Drivers typically leave as early as necessary to be at first customer stop for 8am. A few runs often are done early and Driver can have the rest of the day off unless they want to stay and help next-day truck runs with the shipping team. One multiple-day run there is flexibility to plan out your run to balance the multiple days as you see fit. Most multiple day runs allow for opportunity to get home early on the last day if you work hard the initial days. Main objective is always to make all deliveries and not to return with product so sometimes delays and accommodations to customers are necessary to achieve this which sometimes removes ability to get home early.

Routes to be split between drivers each week in a fair and equitable manner. Some runs less frequent than others. The following are the runs:

  • Borden to Saint John & Moncton – Daily Run, Once per Week
  • Borden to Summerside & Charlottetown – Daily Run, Once per Week
