Full job description
Graphic Design · Prepress · Event Branding · Digital Content
Remote / Freelance / On-Call
About the Role
Digital Elementz Media Group (DEMG) is looking for a versatile Freelance Graphic Designer & Production Artist to support our creative, print, event, and experiential projects on an ongoing, project-by-project basis.
Our work spans brand activations, trade shows, pop-up shops, retail installations, luxury weddings, social celebrations, high-end children's events, custom signage, and printed products.
We're looking for someone equally comfortable with creative design and technical production—whether that's developing a custom event identity, designing signage, creating realistic product mockups, or preparing detailed artwork for print and fabrication.
As many of our projects are tied to live events, deadlines can be tight, priorities can shift, and quick turnarounds are sometimes essential.
What You'll Help Us With
Graphic Design & Event Branding
- Design signage, backdrops, seating charts, floor graphics, stationery, packaging, marketing materials, and other event collateral.
- Translate creative briefs, inspiration, and client references into polished, original designs.
- Adapt established brand guidelines for activations, trade shows, pop-ups, and retail environments.
- Develop custom event branding, including wedding monograms, celebration logos, colour palettes, typography, and supporting graphics.
- Extend approved design concepts consistently across multiple event elements.
- Create professional design mockups, realistic product visualizations, and accurate client-facing proofs.
Print Production & Prepress
A significant part of this role involves preparing artwork for large-format, small-format, and specialty print production. Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail are essential.
- Prepare production-ready artwork for signage, vinyl graphics, packaging, stationery, digital printing, and commercial offset printing.
- Set up files with accurate dimensions, resolution, colour modes (CMYK, RGB, Pantone), bleeds, safe areas, and crop marks.
- Prepare artwork for specialty finishes, including foil stamping, letterpress, embossing/debossing, spot UV, white ink, and die/kiss cutting.
- Create accurate dielines, cut paths, fold/crease lines, and production layers for vinyl cutting, contour cutting, CNC, and laser fabrication.
- Review client-supplied artwork for resolution, fonts, linked assets, transparencies, overprint, and potential production issues.
- Prepare print-ready PDFs, imposed layouts when required, and properly packaged source files according to supplier specifications.
- Review proofs, troubleshoot artwork issues, and make timely revisions when production requirements change.
- Communicate with print and fabrication vendors when technical clarification is needed.
Additional Creative & Digital Support (Assets, Not Required)
Depending on your skills and experience, opportunities may also include:
- Social Media: Create Instagram posts, carousels, Stories, Reels, and other digital content using project photography and footage.
- Photography & Video: Select, edit, retouch, and enhance event photography or create short-form videos.
- Website & Portfolio: Prepare, optimize, and upload project images, galleries, thumbnails, and featured content.
- E-Commerce: Create product mockups, prepare product images, and assist with online shop content.
- Content Management: Help organize, schedule, and publish approved content while maintaining consistent visual branding.
The Person We're Looking For
We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and resourceful designer with a strong eye for elevated aesthetics, contemporary trends, and distinctive visual concepts.
Our projects often involve luxury celebrations, high-end events, and premium brand experiences. We value thoughtful, original design that goes beyond the expected—creating work that feels fresh, refined, and memorable rather than simply replicating what's already out there.
The ideal candidate brings fresh ideas, stays informed about emerging design trends, and knows how to balance creative vision with real-world production requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Formal training in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating refined aesthetics, typography, layout, composition, and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of print production, prepress, colour management, and production-ready artwork.
- Experience creating realistic product or event mockups and working within established brand guidelines.
- Ability to interpret creative briefs, work independently, and proactively clarify missing information or technical specifications.
- Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A creative mindset with an awareness of current design trends and the ability to develop fresh, original concepts.
Additional Skills & Experience (Assets, Not Required)
- Experience with social media content creation, photography, and video editing using Premiere Pro, After Effects, Edits, CapCut, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with WordPress, WooCommerce, or similar website and e-commerce platforms.
- 3D modelling and rendering skills, preferably using SketchUp, Blender, KeyShot, or similar software. AI-assisted visualization is welcome, although traditional 3D modelling and rendering experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in luxury events, weddings, experiential marketing, brand activations, signage, or print production.
We understand that not every designer specializes in all these areas. Strong graphic design and print-production skills are our priority, while additional creative and digital capabilities are a welcome bonus.
Above all, we value someone who takes initiative, brings creativity to the table, and takes pride in producing exceptional work—from the initial concept through to the finished product.
Availability & Working Arrangement
This is an ongoing freelance/on-call position with variable, project-based hours.
Our workload fluctuates throughout the year, particularly with the seasonal nature of the events industry. During peak event seasons, we may have multiple projects running simultaneously with substantial design and production needs. Other periods may be significantly quieter, with fewer assignments or no work for certain weeks.
There are no guaranteed weekly hours or fixed schedules. Projects will be offered based on workload, your skills, and your availability.
Because many projects have fixed event dates and compressed approval timelines, we're looking for someone who can accommodate occasional same-day or next-day revisions and rush assignments when mutually agreed upon.
We don't expect 24/7 availability. What matters is clear communication, flexibility when possible, and reliability when committing to deadlines.
You'll be expected to work independently, stay organized, and maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information and projects. Signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) may be required.
What We'd Like to See
If you're interested, please send us:
- Portfolio: Examples of your best work, particularly print production, branding, signage, and event-related design. Social media, video, or 3D work is welcome but not required.
- Experience: Your resume or a brief overview of your background, relevant projects, and software proficiency.
- Availability: Your general weekly availability, typical turnaround times, and location/time zone.
- Rates: Your expected hourly rate and/or project-based pricing.
Position Details
We're looking to build a long-term working relationship with a dependable freelancer who can become a trusted part of our creative production workflow.
As our business and project volume grow, there may be opportunities for increased work and potentially a permanent position in the future.
We appreciate all applications; however, only candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.
