Reports to: Operations Manager

Location: Langley, BC

Shift: TBD (Focus on coverage when Operations Manager is off-site)

Position Summary

The Junior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the first-line response to mechanical and facility issues. This role supports the Operations Manager by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting simple equipment failures, and ensuring the facility remains safe and operational. This is an ideal role for someone with a mechanical "knack" looking to be mentored by a highly skilled engineer.

Key Responsibilities

· Rapid Response: Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical issues on packaging machinery, conveyors, and food processing equipment.

· Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute daily/weekly PM checklists (lubrication, belt inspections, sensor cleaning) to minimize downtime.

· Facility Upkeep: Handle general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, lighting, and minor structural repairs.

· Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with food safety standards (HACCP/SQF) and WorkSafeBC regulations.

· Parts Inventory: Assist in tracking spare parts and alerting the manager when stock is low.

Qualifications

· 1–2 years of experience in a maintenance role (industrial, automotive, or trades).

· Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to use hand/power tools and basic diagnostic equipment.

· Ability to work independently and follow technical manuals or verbal instructions.

· Flexibility to work varying shifts to ensure facility coverage.

· Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment.
