Job Description

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician, where you have the opportunity to learn and grow in a Relais & Châteaux property recognized by Forbes, Michelin Key, AAA Four Diamond, and Travel & Leisure’s World’s Best Hotels.

This position will be responsible for a range of general maintenance duties. At times this will be a physically demanding position requiring heavy lifting and involving a wide variety of assignments, some of which will be outdoors. The candidate must be physically able to perform such tasks in any type of weather, often with short notice. The successful candidate should be well versed in Guest Service, as they will have many opportunities to be dealing with guests, either in guestrooms or in public spaces.

As a Maintenance Technician you will:

• Ensure efficient and personalized guest service meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux and Forbes, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond Standards.
• Be true to Our Promise, meet and exceed the service philosophies and standards of the Inn.
• Be part of a team who is responsible for the daily maintenance of guestrooms and public spaces.
• Be responsible for landscaping duties, and general grounds work.
• Handle project work such as painting, carpentry and equipment maintenance.
• Be part of a team who is responsible for Interior and Exterior building maintenance.
• Assist in helping to maintain a schedule-based program of preventative maintenance.
• Handle equipment maintenance including bicycle fleet upkeep.
• Manage furniture restoration and repair.
• Work in the outdoors for a variety of tasks.

• Physical competence to complete strenuous tasks, ability up to lift 35lbs.
• An appreciation for a variety of work environments, including both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A passion for gardening, landscaping, and the art of preventative maintenance.
• A willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Prior maintenance and housekeeping experience, which will be considered an asset.
• A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License. Applicants must be eligible for a BC Class 5 driver’s license and have a minimum of two years of clean driving experience in their home country.
• The ability to make a commitment to the position for a mutually understood and agreed upon period of time.

Salary/Wage: $21.00 per hour.
