Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Mine Operations, the Mine Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe and productive operation of the operations crew. This position follows a 4x4 schedule rotation of day and night shifts.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Lead and empower employees in achieving operating targets and improve employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship, feedback and achieving safe operating targets
  • Manage and optimize truck, shovel, drilling, and blasting functions to improve production and minimize operating costs
  • Administer the collective agreement, safety, and mine and environmental regulations (health and safety reclamation code) in a manner consistent with policies and procedures
  • Read and understand maps along with mine plans, mine maintenance activities and collaborate closely with other shift supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel in coordinating mining activities
  • Participate in industrial relations and safety investigations

Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Open Pit Shift Boss certificate
  • Minimum three years of demonstrated ability leading operational activities in an open pit mining environment
  • Understanding of the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC
  • Exposure to Wenco Dispatch system would be an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

Salary: $123,000 - $152,000 / year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
