Full job description

Wilder Concepts Inc is a design/build and maintenance firm that focuses on high-end residential installations along with commercial maintenance. Wilder Concepts has been working diligently for over 16 years in the industry and continues to refine its business culture, landscape construction and horticultural maintenance processes.

Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining the flow of operations in the yard and on the company job sites. This includes but is not limited to daily scheduling of the crews with a focus on minimizing labour waste, balancing equipment requirements on all job sites daily, maintaining yard inventories, supporting the crews with direction, and redirecting their efforts where required are urgent tasks.

Scheduling of crews in all departments is to be completed daily/weekly/ monthly. It will also include assisting in job-building efficiency by providing equipment and tools for the crews, including having tools fixed in a timely manner.

Scheduling fleet maintenance and safety certifications, tracking weekly safety meetings done by crew leaders, completing employee equipment/truck training, keeping crews updated on current MOL and MTO regulations and applicable OH&S regulations are also responsibilities of the Operations Manager.

Job Duties

Yard Operations

Maintaining inventory levels

Communicating with tri-axle multi-lift driver to keep inventory ahead of clean fill, bin removals/replacements and metal recycling by the company.

Ensuring the ‘10Hp and Over’ equipment inspections on all machines in yard are completed on sites.

Scheduling truck/trailer/equipment/tool maintenance and floating of machines.

Enforcing the flow of crew reporting to the office, including truck inspections, delivery slips and receipts, labor/job timesheets

Assist crews in leaving the yard in a timely manner in the mornings.

Organization between seasons to efficiently transition from one season to the next.

Job Site Operations

Maintaining regular communication with all Wilder Concepts crew leaders regarding expected timelines for job completion, material delivery times/lag time, labor requirements/adjustments, availability of equipment

Maintaining regular communication with designer/project managers regarding crew leader’s timelines and any expected material delivery lag times so crews can be scheduled effectively.

Monitor processes, identify gaps, and resolve operational issues to correct organizational deficiencies.

Prepare operating and capital budgets, review expenditures and implement corrective action plans.

Maintain onsite presence to oversee operations and verify compliance with company operational standards.

Manage team of 20 employees with consistent record of accomplishment in achieving operational goals.

Open communication with all maintenance customers regarding extended service beyond contractual obligations.

Competencies

Strong management skills that encompass operational planning, process improvement and supply chain management to ensure project resources are readily available and waste is minimized.

Decision making and problem solving, critical thinking and timely solutions to operational challenges are crucial. Must lead and manage organizational change initiatives, process changes and system implementation/restructuring.

Communication: strong communication skills required to build relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
