Full job description
Job Summary
The Winnipeg Blues Junior A Hockey Club is seeking a friendly, reliable, and organized Game Operations Assistant to help ensure our home games run smoothly from the moment fans arrive until the final whistle.
This role is primarily focused on front door, admissions, ticketing, and guest services, while also providing general support with game-day operations as needed. It is a great opportunity for a student or young professional looking to gain hands-on experience in sports and event operations.
Duties
- Greet fans, families, and guests and provide a welcoming first point of contact
- Manage front-door admissions and assist with ticket scanning and verification
- Sell and process tickets, including handling cash and electronic payments as required
- Answer questions and provide information about game times, tickets, seating, and facility locations
- Assist with maintaining an organized and efficient flow of guests into the facility
- Support game-day promotions, giveaways, and other fan engagement activities as required
- Assist with game presentation activities, including music, announcements, promotions, and intermission activities as needed
- Communicate with team and facility staff to help address guest concerns or operational issues
- Assist with basic setup and cleanup of the admissions and game-day areas
Qualifications
- Friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with the public
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and organized
- Comfortable handling cash and processing transactions
- Able to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
- Previous customer service, ticketing, hospitality, or event experience is an asset, but not required
- Interest in hockey and/or the sports industry is an asset
- Must be available for all home game dates, including evenings and weekends
- Must have reliable transportation to 57 South Landing Drive, Oak Bluff, MB, as the facility is not accessible by public transit
Pay: $17.88-$27.94 per hour
