Operations Assistant

The Opportunity

AgroPlus is looking for a reliable, hands-on Operations Assistant to support our Lethbridge and Coaldale locations.

This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a variety of hands-on responsibilities across delivery, warehouse operations, forklift work, product handling, equipment maintenance, seed treatment, and general site support. The successful candidate will play an important role in keeping our day-to-day operations running safely and efficiently.

This is a seasonal agricultural environment, and the successful candidate must be willing to work overtime and occasional Saturdays during peak periods, including seeding and harvest.Flexibility and a willingness to pitch in when the workload increases are important to this role.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You should be willing to help wherever needed and take pride in keeping equipment, products, work areas, and facilities in good order.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Transportation

• Deliver crop protection products, seed, and other agricultural products to customers.
• Load, unload, count, and organize products for delivery.
• Operate company vehicles and ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for daily use.
• Complete regular vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues or repairs required.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained according to company policy.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and safe driving practices.
• Treat customers, their property, and their businesses with respect.
• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.

Warehouse & Forklift Operations

• Load, unload, move, and organize products within the warehouse and yard.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely.
• Help improve warehouse organization and make efficient use of available space.
• Pick and prepare products for customer deliveries.
• Assist truck drivers with loading, product counts, and delivery preparation.
• Help coordinate daily activities for truck drivers and seasonal staff, including delivery routes and assigned tasks.
• Assist with weekly inventory counts and help prevent inventory losses.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard areas.

Site & Equipment Support

• Assist with general vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Monitor and maintain fuel site areas and complete weekly site checks.
• Assist with general maintenance and upkeep at both the Coaldale and Lethbridge locations.
• Keep work areas, equipment, vehicles, and yards clean and organized.
• Assist with meeting applicable AWSA requirements and site standards.
• Follow all company safety procedures and protocols.

Seed Treatment

• Operate seed treatment equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure seed treatment products are applied properly and according to company procedures.
• Maintain seed treatment equipment and report any issues or required repairs.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling and applying products.

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class 5 driver's licence required.
• Class 1 driver's licence is an asset.
• Experience operating forklifts, pulling trailers, or operating agricultural or other equipment is an asset.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime during busy agricultural seasons, including Saturdays during seasonal peaks.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Reliable and willing to take responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical, hands-on work.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.
• Professional and respectful approach when dealing with customers, coworkers, and suppliers.
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team member.
• Previous agricultural experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.
