Work Location Note: This is a site-based, camp role requiring full participation in a rotational schedule and compliance with all site safety and operational requirements.

Position Overview

1911 Gold Corporation is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Mill Operations Supervisor to lead daily operations within the True North Mine processing plant. Reporting to the Mill Operations General Foreman, this position is responsible for supervising Mill Operators and Laborers while ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all processing circuits.

The successful candidate will provide leadership, coaching, and operational oversight across the crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, elution, reagent mixing, and tailings management areas. This role plays a key part in maintaining production targets, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring employees are trained, competent, and equipped to perform their work safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide daily direction to Mill Operators and Laborers.
  • Foster a positive team environment built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of employee performance, discipline, and operational excellence.
  • Provide coaching, constructive feedback, and ongoing support to develop employee skills and competencies.

Operations

  • Follow established preventative maintenance programs, including routine inspections and servicing of equipment
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide daily direction to Mill Operators and Laborers.
  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of: Crushing Plant, Grinding Circuit, Flotation Circuit, Reagent Mixing Systems, Leaching and Elution Circuits, Tailings Management Area
  • Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved while minimizing downtime.
  • Verify that all daily operating reports and production records are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Ensure crews have the necessary tools, equipment, and resources to perform assigned work efficiently.

Training & Development

  • Work closely with the Training and Safety departments to develop and implement training programs for Mill Operators.
  • Ensure employees receive the appropriate training and demonstrate competency before performing assigned tasks.
  • Identify opportunities for employee development and continuous operational improvement.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, workplace inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Complete regular job observations and provide coaching on safe work practices.
  • Coordinate equipment isolation, lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and hot work preparations before maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required Experience & Skill Set

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in mineral processing or gold mill operations.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a processing plant environment.
  • Thorough understanding of crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, elution, reagent systems, and tailings operations.
  • Strong knowledge of safe work practices, hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident prevention.
  • Experience coordinating lockout/tagout procedures, confined space work, and maintenance activities.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to motivate teams while maintaining high safety, environmental, and production standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Valid driver's license is considered an asset.

Job Conditions & Work Environment

This position is based in an active industrial mining environment and requires working in and around heavy mobile equipment and processing machinery. Working conditions include:

  • Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
  • Physically demanding work requiring regular walking, climbing stairs, and working in industrial environments.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, gloves, and other site-specific protective equipment.
  • Willingness to work a rotational schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays as required.
