Full job description

Kentville Toyota is an established and growing automotive dealership seeking an experienced, results-driven Fixed Operations Manager to lead our Service and Parts operations.

This is a key leadership position responsible for driving departmental performance, developing a high-performing team, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and maximizing the profitability and efficiency of our Fixed Operations departments

The successful candidate will be a strong automotive leader who can assess existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and build upon the dealership's current success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all Fixed Operations activities, including Service and Parts
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and accountability to Service and Parts personnel
  • Establish and monitor departmental goals, budgets, KPIs, and performance targets
  • Drive Service and Parts revenue, gross profit, productivity, efficiency, and overall profitability
  • Analyze departmental performance and implement strategies to improve results
  • Monitor technician productivity, labour sales, effective labour rates, hours sold, parts performance, and overall department efficiency
  • Develop strategies to increase customer retention, service visits, and long-term customer loyalty
  • Ensure a consistently exceptional customer experience throughout the Service and Parts departments
  • Handle customer concerns and escalated issues professionally and effectively
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and retain high-performing employees
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development
  • Work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team to achieve dealership objectives
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and dealership partners
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, dealership policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Review and improve existing processes, procedures, and departmental workflow
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce unnecessary expenses, and improve profitability
  • Ensure the Service and Parts departments maintain a professional, organized, safe, and customer-focused environment


What We're Looking For

  • Proven management experience within an automotive dealership Fixed Operations environment
  • Strong knowledge of Service and Parts department operations
  • Demonstrated ability to improve departmental performance and profitability
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills
  • Strong understanding of automotive dealership KPIs and financial statements
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer-service skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive workplace culture
  • A hands-on, proactive management style
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dealership environment
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Automotive trade experience or relevant industry certifications are considered an asset
