Quality Manager

At Target Healthcare Group, we are pioneers, innovators, and lifesavers, committed to making a significant difference in the world of healthcare. As a group, we support our network of pharmaceutical manufacturers and distribution companies, working collaboratively to ensure patients receive high-quality, accessible medication. Our vision is to facilitate a world where every patient has access to the medication they need.

Today, we are one of the fastest growing healthcare companies in the UK, employing over 500 diverse professionals including Pharmacists, skilled Technicians, HR, IT, Procurement, Warehouse and Customer Service staff.

Within the Group, our Canadian division is focused on delivering excellence across pharmaceutical distribution, supplying medicines to pharmacies, hospitals, and healthcare providers across the country. Backed by the strength and expertise of Target Healthcare Group, we combine global capability with local insight to meet the needs of the Canadian healthcare market. Our growing team is driven by quality, compliance, and a shared commitment to improving patient outcomes.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to provide quality leadership and regulatory oversight across Target Healthcare Canada.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring GMP compliance across our pharmaceutical wholesale and distribution activities and maintaining the requirements of our Drug Establishment Licence (DEL).

You will work closely with senior management, the License Holder and teams across the business and wider Group, providing expert guidance on quality systems, GMP and GDP compliance.

The successful candidate will also be designated as Alternate Qualified Person in Charge (QPIC/A) on the company's Controlled Drug and Substance licence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide QP oversight of GMP activities, ensuring compliance with Health Canada requirements and applicable GMP/GDP standards.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System, including SOPs, deviations, CAPAs, change controls and validation activities.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place for pharmaceutical procurement, storage, distribution and temperature-controlled products.
  • Oversee temperature mapping, calibration, temperature excursions and cold-chain investigations.
  • Lead and support internal, external and Health Canada GMP/GDP inspections and audits, including the management of observations and CAPAs.
  • Ensure suppliers and customers are appropriately qualified and approved.
  • Oversee complaints, recalls, returns, rejected products and final product disposition.
  • Ensure effective training, self-inspection and quality review programmes are maintained.
  • Establish and maintain Quality Technical Agreements for outsourced activities.
  • Support pharmaceutical export activities and assess international regulatory requirements where applicable.
  • Provide quality leadership and guidance across the Canadian business and wider Group.

About You

You are an experienced pharmaceutical Quality professional who is confident operating autonomously, making sound regulatory decisions and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

You will bring strong technical knowledge of GMP and experience working within a regulated pharmaceutical, healthcare or life sciences environment. You are comfortable balancing regulatory compliance with the practical needs of a growing business and are passionate about maintaining high standards of quality and patient safety.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Quality Manager or equivalent GMP-regulated role within the pharmaceutical, healthcare or life sciences sector.
  • Strong, current knowledge of GMP and GDP requirements, including Health Canada regulations.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems, CAPA, deviations, change control, SOPs, audits and inspections.
  • Experience conducting or participating in GMP internal audits.
  • Experience working with temperature-controlled pharmaceutical products and cold-chain requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal English, with excellent technical writing and numerical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant science discipline from a recognised Canadian or US university; Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or Health Sciences preferred.
  • Highly organised, analytical and able to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of EU GDP and international pharmaceutical import requirements would be advantageous.

Why Join Target Healthcare Group?

  • A senior quality leadership role with significant responsibility and visibility.
  • The opportunity to shape and continuously improve quality systems within a growing Canadian pharmaceutical business.
  • The chance to work across an international healthcare group and collaborate with experienced professionals across multiple functions.
  • A role where your expertise directly supports product quality, regulatory compliance and patient safety.
  • A collaborative culture that values expertise, accountability and continuous improvement.

Apply now and play a key role in shaping the future of Quality at Target Healthcare Canada.
