Role overview

The role of Commercial Site Superintendent is to provide expertise and management of all project construction activities while working collaboratively with a Project Management Team in compliance with all relevant Naikoon policies, manuals, and procedures. You will be Naikoon’s lead builder who assumes full responsibility for overall project construction.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and fortify relationships with all professionals, inspectors, and other subcontractors
  • Fundamental Understanding of the Construction Cost Estimate
  • Fundamental Understanding of the Contract Documents
  • Collaborative creation of the Construction Schedule
  • Management of the Construction Schedule, including weekly subtrade/team updates
  • Ensure projects are constructed on time and manage labour budgets
  • Full comprehensive understanding of all Project Documents
  • Ensure all materials are installed as per Manufacturer specifications
  • Act as a Naikoon safety ambassador and safety leader on-site
  • Manage the compliance of Site Specific Safety Plan
  • Fundamental understanding of all sub-trade contracts
  • Management of all subcontractor scopes of work including deficiencies
  • Accountability for all material delivery and storage on-site
  • Quality Control to Naikoon Standards
  • Management of all required site inspections
  • Team mentorship
  • Provide input for tendering
  • Reviewing bids and estimates before issuance of Purchase Order
  • Provide input to the Project Manager during Budget/Invoice Reviews
  • Provide Input for Class D, C, B, and A Construction Estimates
  • Collaboration with the Pre-Construction Team as requested
  • Direct communication with clients and professionals
  • On-site 7-3:30pm M-F Weekly, with some afterhours and weekend work as required

What you'll need to succeed

  • Education in construction management or similar
  • Minimum of 10 years in-field construction experience supervising commercial projects in value of $10M+
  • Demonstrated management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Experience working in culturally diverse settings or a demonstrated understanding of cultural sensitivity is considered a strong asset.
  • Willingness and availability to travel out of town for project work in Northern BC is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to utilize technology as required
  • Strong understanding of building science in the Lower Mainland

COMPENSATION

Based on experience: $115,000-$145,000/annually + perks
