The Opportunity

We are hiring a Senior Software Developer to take ownership of how MTLI operates internally.

This role is responsible for automating workflows across every department, eliminating inefficiencies, and building a scalable operating system that supports high-volume project execution.

This is a hands-on role first. You will be expected to build systems directly, implement automation, and integrate tools—before growing into a leadership position with a team under you.

If you are someone who:

  • Sees broken systems and fixes them
  • Thinks in workflows, not tasks
  • Builds fast and improves constantly

This role is built for you.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

1. End-to-End Workflow Automation

  • Map and optimize workflows across:
  • Sales (CRM, pipeline, quoting)
  • Projects (handover, PM tracking)
  • Operations (dispatch, labor coordination)
  • Finance (invoicing, AP/AR tracking)
  • Eliminate manual processes and redundancies
  • Ensure clean handoffs between all departments

2. Systems & ERP Development

  • Own and optimize MTLI’s internal systems (Lovable + integrations)
  • Build seamless data flow across:
  • CRM → Deals → Projects → Dispatch → Reporting → Finance
  • Remove duplicate data entry and broken workflows
  • Ensure systems are scalable across North America

3. AI Implementation Across the Business

  • Deploy AI tools to:
  • Assist with proposal and scope generation
  • Automate reporting and documentation
  • Improve sales follow-up and communication
  • Provide operational insights and dashboards
  • Embed AI into daily workflows across teams

4. SOP Development & Standardization

  • Convert workflows into repeatable, scalable systems
  • Build and document SOPs across all departments
  • Ensure consistency across projects, teams, and regions

5. Data & Performance Visibility

  • Build dashboards for leadership:
  • Revenue and pipeline
  • Project performance and margins
  • Operational efficiency
  • Enable real-time visibility across the business

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies and fix them quickly
  • Test and implement new tools and technologies
  • Continuously improve speed, accuracy, and scalability

7. Leadership Growth Path

  • Start as a hands-on builder
  • Over time:
  • Hire and manage automation resources
  • Build an internal systems team
  • Grow into a true Head/Director-level role

What Success Looks Like

Within 90 Days:

  • Core workflows mapped across all departments
  • 3–5 key automations implemented
  • Noticeable reduction in manual admin work

Within 6 Months:

  • CRM → Projects → Ops → Finance flows fully connected
  • Faster project handovers and fewer errors
  • AI integrated into core workflows

Within 12 Months:

  • MTLI operating on a scalable, automated system
  • Ability to handle significantly more project volume without proportional headcount growth

Requirements

  • 3–8+ years in:
  • Automation, systems, or operations roles
  • OR startup environments building internal tools
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Workflow automation tools (Zapier, Make, n8n, etc.)
  • APIs and system integrations
  • CRM / ERP systems
  • Experience implementing AI tools into business workflows
  • Strong operational thinking (not just technical skills)
  • Ability to build and execute independently

Nice to Have

  • Experience in construction, logistics, or industrial environments
  • Experience working in project-based businesses
  • Familiarity with tools like QuickBooks, project management platforms, or data dashboards

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $120,000
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $120,000 – $150,000
  • Performance bonus tied to:
  • Systems implemented
  • Efficiency improvements
  • Adoption across teams

Growth Path:High performers will grow into a true Head/Director role with increased compensation and team ownership.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$120,500.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Extended health care

Application question(s):

  • Have you built automation workflows across multiple departments?
  • Have you integrated CRM, project management, and finance systems? Elaborate.
  • Walk me through a complex workflow you built from start to finish.
  • If I gave you our business today, what would be the first 3 workflows you’d automate and why?
  • What AI tools have you actually implemented, not just tested?
  • What’s the biggest cost-saving or efficiency gain you’ve created? Quantify it.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Software development: 5 years (preferred)
