Full job description

Photographer & Videographer

LinkBuffer Studios & Research Labs Ltd. Unit 101 – 10460 176 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5S 2E4 Paid position | On-location at client locations across the Edmonton area

About LinkBuffer Studios

LinkBuffer Studios is a full-service digital and AI marketing agency headquartered in Edmonton. We build growth systems for local service businesses across healthcare, legal, automotive, construction, and professional services.

Our clients don't sell products on a shelf. They sell trust, expertise, and outcomes. That means the visual content we produce has to feel real — a practitioner actually working with someone, a crew actually on a roof, a front desk that actually looks like somewhere you'd want to walk in. That's the work.

The Role

We're looking for a Photographer & Videographer who can walk into a client location — an office, a job site, a showroom — and come out with content that makes the business look like the best version of itself.

This is a capture-first role. You don't need to be an editor; our in-house team handles post-production. What you need is a strong eye behind the camera, the ability to run a shoot on your own at a client site, and the discipline to hand back clean, well-organized files. If you do edit, that's a real bonus and we'll make room for it.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and execute photo and video shoots at client locations across Edmonton and surrounding areas, working to a defined brief and each client's brand guidelines
  • Transport, set up, and tear down your own camera, lighting, and audio gear at each location
  • Operate professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment to produce polished, consistent results in real-world environments — offices, treatment spaces, showrooms, and job sites
  • Direct non-professional subjects on camera, putting owners and staff at ease so the footage feels natural rather than staged
  • Capture enough coverage in a single visit to supply weeks of social and campaign assets
  • Hand off properly labelled, backed-up footage and image sets to our editing team, with clear file naming, versioning, and shot notes so nothing gets lost between capture and delivery
  • Collaborate with our marketing, SEO, and design teams so visuals support the campaign strategy, not just look good in isolation
  • Keep current with platform formats, trends, and techniques, and bring ideas to the table rather than waiting for a shot list

Requirements

  • A valid Alberta driver's licence and reliable transportation — you'll be travelling between client locations throughout the week
  • The physical ability to load, carry, and set up equipment on site, including camera bags, tripods, light stands, and audio kits, sometimes up stairs or across job sites
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating both photography and videography across varied subjects and settings
  • Confident operation of professional DSLR or mirrorless bodies, plus gimbals and lav/shotgun audio setups
  • Solid command of lighting, composition, and audio capture, including practical problem-solving in less-than-ideal spaces
  • Clear communication skills — you'll be representing LinkBuffer at client locations and coordinating with our team remotely
  • The ability to run multiple client projects at once and hit deadlines in a fast-moving agency environment
  • Care in handling and organizing files, so every shoot arrives complete and correctly labelled

Considered an Asset (Not Required)

  • Editing experience in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or After Effects
  • Colour grading, retouching, or motion graphics skills
  • Experience shooting in healthcare, fitness, or trades environments
  • Familiarity with short-form vertical content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
  • Drone certification (RPAS)

Why LinkBuffer

  • Real variety — a healthcare practice on Monday, a construction site on Wednesday, a driving school on Friday
  • Direct creative input on campaigns, not just execution of someone else's storyboard
  • A team that treats content as a core growth lever, with the budget and strategy to back it
  • Room to grow your craft alongside our AI and marketing systems work

How to Apply

Two ways to apply:

  • Email your resume to info@linkbufferstudios.com, or
  • Apply directly through Indeed

Please include a link to your portfolio (website, Vimeo, Instagram, or Drive folder) along with your resume, plus a short note about a shoot you're proud of and why. Applications without a portfolio link can't be considered.
