Position title
Environment Artist (Intermediate - Senior)
Description
Under the supervision of the project manager, you will create 2D and 3D elements and adapt them to specific areas. You will take into account real geography and urbanization to construct your 2D and 3D elements: buildings, accessories, roads, signage, vegetation, etc. You will participate in the evolution of workflows to make visual elements more impressive and performant.
Responsibilities
What You Will Do
- Participate in the evolution of workflows.
- Use internal or external libraries to accelerate the creation of original content.
- Generate terrains and create 2D and 3D elements: buildings, vegetation, signage, displays, accessories.
- Utilize the project's common content library. Contribute to it and ensure your additions are well-organized.
- Familiarize yourself with North American road signage, traffic, parking, bridges, services, etc. Learn the standards of other cities around the world.
- Bring your scenes to life with your artistic expertise. Make clever compromises in applying large, medium, and small details to meet deadlines.
- Recreate mimetic elements based on real references.
- Learn workflows and technical constraints. Collaborate with the team and ask questions regularly to avoid mistakes.
- Share your ideas to improve workflows, visual elements, and performance.
- Participate in level testing processes to ensure the quality of your work.
Qualifications
- Have 3 to 5 years of experience in game engines, modeling, texturing, lighting, and landscape creation.
- Be familiar with Unity, 3DS Max (Maya, Blender, etc.), Photoshop (Krita, Photopea, etc.), and know how to optimize creations for proper performance in a game engine.
- Enjoy creating content for large 3D levels and master the basics of geometric proportions, perspective, lighting, composition, colors, etc.
- Be curious and have an eye for detail.
- Enjoy overcoming various technical challenges and delivering a product you are proud of.
- Enjoy sharing knowledge and working in a team.
