Full job description

The Finance Controller is responsible for the Finance Department and for managing all financial actions of Metalumen. This professional will track cash flow, make forecasts, define budgets, and contribute strategic advice to the President, according to Metalumen’s financial analysis. This is a part time on site position in Guelph.

Key Area: Financial Reports

Accountabilities

- Review and reconcile GL accounts and generate statements

- Prepare/review period end journal and adjustment entries relating to fixed assets, prepayments, accruals and general ledger accounts as necessary.

- Review all finance statement and report to shareholders

- Generate required reports to banks

- Covenant calculations

- Prepare reports/support documents and reconciliations for statutory filing (HST/WSIB/EHT etc.)

- Other finance reports including job costs, loan, reconciliation, Visa accounts reconciliation or any general ledger items

- Complete any form or report requested by the Federal or Provincial government

- Calculate monthly licensing, franchise, patent and similar dues.

Key Area: Government Grant:

Accountabilities

- Maintain knowledge about government grants up to date

- Apply for grants when strategic for Metalumen

- Ensure reports and documents are updated

- Calculate the funds periodically

Key Area: Inventory and Cost Accounting

Accountabilities

-Review inventory accounting daily

-Investigate into and report on cost and invoicing discrepancies

-Prepare product and job costing

Key Area: Others

Accountabilities-

Participate in strategic meetings

Review and approve monthly pension contributions, WSIB, EHT, and other dues

- Act as a backup for the Bookkeeper/Accounts Clerk

- Advise shareholders of the best finance procedures

Pay: $40.00-$59.00 per hour

  • Bachelor's Degree (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (preferred)
