Job Overview

Paper E. Clips Inc is a leading provider of gift and greeting cards, dedicated to bringing joy and heartfelt moments to our customers. With a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, we are looking for a dynamic Service Merchandiser to oversee the merchandising of our key retail accounts in the Greater Toronto area.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Merchandiser (contractor, part-time) to enhance our retail environment through effective product presentation and store support. This role involves working independently to ensure merchandise displays are visually appealing, well-organized, and aligned with brand standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, retail experience, and a keen eye for visual design. This position offers flexible hours suitable for individuals looking to contribute to a dynamic retail team while developing their merchandising and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Independent time management - 20-25 hours per week
  • Merchandising and Inventory Management – Conduct regular visits to the assigned stores to set up and maintain optimal product placement and presentation of greeting card sections.
  • Inventory Control – Monitor stock levels, restock merchandise, and implement product rotation strategies to drive sales performance.
  • Order Management – Utilize the Commerce Build order entry system to efficiently place greeting card orders for assigned stores on behalf of Paper E. Clips.
  • Order Accuracy – Place orders through the order entry system with a high level of accuracy, ensuring minimal to no errors.
  • Sales Optimization – Manage the stock-to-sales ratio for each store, ensuring effective sell-through of Paper E. Clips greeting cards, aligned with regional sales trends.
  • Seasonal Merchandising – Oversee the setup and removal of seasonal stock, ensuring timely set-up, maintenance, takedown, and restocking of seasonal greeting cards as needed.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Passion for Greeting Cards, Stationery, and Gifts
  • Merchandising Experience – Previous experience is an asset but not required.
  • Strong Communication & Organizational Skills – Oversee in-store inventory and promptly communicate with both in-store Managers and the Paper E. Clips Admin team to address any issues that may arise.
  • Independent & Efficient – Able to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
  • Industry Knowledge – Familiarity with the gift and greeting card industry is a plus.
  • Physical Capability – Ability to lift and manage heavy boxes.
  • Proficient in Technology – Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook (Teams & Excel) and the Commerce Build order entry system.
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Seasonal Commitment – Availability to work during peak seasons (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Christmas/Holiday, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day).
  • Driver’s License and access to a car required.
