Full job description

Join Our Team: Part-Time Junior High Math & Blended Learning Teacher

START DATE: AUGUST 4, 2026

Located centrally in Calgary, The Phoenix Foundation School has spent the last 22 years pioneering a unique educational model. As a non-profit private school, we are proud to be the recognized leaders in blended learning. Our students thrive in a dynamic ecosystem: part-time at school, part-time online, and part-time out in the community.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to offer unique learning opportunities for the entire family so that each young person can develop into a life-long learner and an active global citizen.

To put it simply—we are unique. And we are looking for just the right person (another unique soul!) who understands this model, truly enjoys teaching teenagers, and loves collaborating with a tight-knit team to deliver an outstanding program.

The Details:

  • Hours: 18 hours per week (onsite).
  • Class Sizes: Small, engaging cohorts of just 6 to 10 students.
  • The Schedule: Wednesdays and Fridays (all day), plus one additional day of your choosing.

What Your Week Will Look Like:

  • Wednesdays (In-Person): You will teach Grade 7/8/9 Math at the school, alongside occasional electives throughout the year.
  • Fridays (Hybrid): You will teach in person just once a month. On the other Fridays (and your chosen flexible day), you will work onsite focusing on online assignment creation, prep, marking, and hosting office hours for Private Student Instruction (PSI).

Qualifications:

  • You must hold a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • You have a passion for math and a gift for making it accessible to junior high students.
  • You are adaptable, collaborative, and excited about the future of blended learning.

If this sounds like an environment where you would thrive, we invite you to reach out! Contact us today to explore this opportunity.
