JOB DESCRIPTION

Location -Covering all Atlantic Canada

Job Title: District Sales Manager- Motorcycle/ATV

Reports to: National Sales Manager - Motorcycle/ATV

Position Overview

This position is responsible for the management as well as the growth of the District they are assigned to and is the main contact between the dealer network and Suzuki Canada for all sales matters. The candidate will work from their home as their office base travelling extensively in the in their assigned region with frequent overnight stays.

Responsibilities

· Manage the dealer activity within a specified territory through daily interaction with Suzuki dealers and dealership personnel.

· Act as a consultant with the dealers to increase dealer commitment to the Suzuki franchise and implement strategies to maximize the retail and wholesale of Suzuki products.

· Advise head office staff of ongoing activities, inquiries or problems within the district as well as informing management of competitive activities within the district.

· Manage the implementation of company sponsored programs within the district to achieve assigned goals and objectives.

· Present front-line representation of corporate goals, policies and procedures to enhance the dealer body, market penetration and brand image of Suzuki.

Specific Accountabilities

· Develop plans to achieve Sales targets both retail and wholesale.

· Develop plans to achieve Booking target for all product lines

· Monthly product allocation and reconciliation

· Monthly co-op allocation and reconciliation

· Territory composite analysis

· Market analysis with each dealer

· Product training

· Corporate consumer shows and dealer show attendance

· Weekly itineraries and dealer contact reports to head office

· Dealer development and new dealer set-up

· Making recommendations and presentations to improve the job function and special event programs.

EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES AND SKILL

The successful candidate must be a graduate of a business or marketing program from a recognized post-secondary institution.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of related work experience selling products in a business to business sales situation
  • Ability to develop regional sales plan and execute to meet annual objectives
  • Passion for marine industry, with marine product knowledge of outboard engines and marine products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze competitive activity in the region and develop marketing and sales initiatives to remain competitive
  • Demonstrated ability to learn a new industry, analyze current market conditions and develop strategies to maintain and grow dealerships
  • Excellent understanding and use of Microsoft Office required.
  • A valid driver’s license is a job requirement and is vital to perform the job functions.
  • Significant amount of overnight travel and weekend work is to be expected.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
