Full job description

Maple Leaf Construction Ltd. is currently looking for a skilled Truck & Transport Technician who thrives in a hands-on environment and can work independently. If you have strong diagnostic skills and experience repairing on-road trucks and equipment, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair:
  • Diesel and internal combustion engines
  • Transmissions and drivetrains
  • ABS, suspension, and air brake systems
  • Hydraulic, electrical, and auxiliary systems
  • Perform Manitoba Government Safety Inspections (MGSI), if certified
  • Use computer-based diagnostic tools
  • Support and mentor apprentices (journeyman level)
  • Maintain accurate service records
  • Assist with additional duties as required

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Level 2 Apprentice to Journeyman certification (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Comfortable using computers and diagnostic software
  • Welding experience is an asset
  • MGSI certification is an asset

What You’ll Need

  • Your own set of mechanic’s hand tools (required on day one)
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Class 3 or 1 with Air Brake endorsement is an asset
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to:
  • Work extended hours and occasional weekends
  • Lift up to 100 lbs
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Travel locally for field and mobile repairs
