Full job description

The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring a Lead Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis to work on-site in Regina, SK.

Are you ready to lead impactful engineering work in a dynamic refinery environment? As the Lead Maintenance Engineer, you'll tackle complex technical challenges, provide mentorship, and drive maintenance excellence through innovative solutions and cross-functional collaboration. Apply today for the opportunity to make a measurable difference in asset performance, safety, and reliability.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and support maintenance engineering tasks that vary both in type and complexity, including troubleshooting in-service equipment, developing Construction Work Packages (CWPs), and designing small-scale modifications and installations.
  • Provide technical guidance to tradespeople, planners, and coordinators, resolving equipment issues, obsolescence challenges, and supporting field and shop repairs.
  • Determine the most technically feasible and cost-effective short- or long-term solutions for equipment issues while considering risk, plant performance, downtime, and industry standards.
  • Manage maintenance engineering backlog and performance metrics, ensuring timely development of technical solutions to minimize downtime while adhering to equipment integrity standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Equipment Integrity, Reliability Engineering, and Purchasing to meet asset performance requirements and identify improvement opportunities
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead assigned initiatives, contribute to strategic planning, foster a safety-first culture, and drive departmental goals toward maintenance excellence.

Who you’ll work with:

The Team: You will work closely with several engineers and technicians in the areas of Reliability, Rotating Equipment, Maintenance, and Equipment Integrity on a team that prioritizes operational safety and plant reliability.

Why it matters:

We fuel Western Canada. Our Refinery strives to be a recognized leader in safety, reliability and sustainability within the petroleum-refining industry.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in maintenance engineering and:

  • Have 8+ years of related maintenance engineering experience in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in a related field and a P.Eng designation, ideally with APEGS (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
  • Are familiar with equipment codes and standards associated with refinery assets.
  • Have experience developing Construction Work Packages, working within CMMS systems, and executing Management of Change processes.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salaries, short-term incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and an employer-contributed pension plan.
  • Encouragement to take advantage of learning opportunities to grow and develop as a Team Member.
  • As a co-operative, we do business differently. We believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. To learn more about who we are and what we offer, visit www.fcl.crs (https://www.fcl.crs).

We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process to ensure an enjoyable candidate experience. If you require an accommodation during the recruitment process, we invite you to submit your requests to us via fclhr@fcl.crs. All information received will be kept confidential.

If this opportunity speaks to you, we invite you to apply today!

We thank all candidates for their interest, however only those selected to continue in the recruitment process will be contacted.

As this position is considered a position of trust and safety sensitive, you may be required to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a criminal record check in accordance with CRC policies. FCLUL

FCL embraces diversity and inclusion. We’re working to create a workforce that is as diverse as the communities we serve and an environment where every team member brings their whole self to work. We believe all candidates should feel at home with us and be given the opportunity to fully participate during the recruitment process.
