Career Opportunity
We are looking for a candidate that will take the lead in driving smooth, well‑coordinated project execution—planning and scheduling key work activities that keep our operations moving forward. You’ll maintain and update a dynamic portfolio of ongoing projects while collaborating closely with stakeholders to align resources, remove roadblocks, and keep repair, replacement, and rehabilitation efforts running at full momentum.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Supervisor, as an Operational Planner you will assist with the oversight and management of information, operations and budgets for ongoing repair and rehabilitation projects. This includes preparing schedules associated with the work, maintaining a daily log of project activities and attending weekly production meetings while considering resource constraints, revenue service operations, Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) rules, and other safety regulations when planning and scheduling the repair and rehabilitation of infrastructure. To this end, you will work with stakeholders to identify and analyze new maintenance initiatives and assists frontline managers to determine service and labour requirements and manage resource interdependencies, competing stakeholder needs, and associated constraints and ensures that resources are available to meet the requirements of the production schedule at all times.
As an Operational Planner, you will prepare and maintain status reports for ongoing infrastructure maintenance work activities and recommend strategies for improvements through performance statistics while advising senior management of scheduled repair/maintenance activities and making presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate may be required to complete various TTC training courses as defined by Management, as well as safety, environmental and other technical courses relating to areas of responsibility.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Your completion in a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (i.e. Civil Engineering) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent is integral and will contribute to the success in this role.
- Your application will demonstrate project management work experience in the construction industry such as track/structure construction and rehabilitation methods.
- Your application will also demonstrate experience in the analysis of construction schedules involving complex projects, including a good understanding of the tactical construction restraints involved with transit infrastructure projects and experience in the analysis of preventative and corrective maintenance programs and schedules.
- Experience in the analysis of preventative and corrective maintenance programs and schedules.
- Knowledge of project management principles.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies (e.g. Occupational Health & Safety Act, environmental compliances, etc.).
- Strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal communication, analytical and technical report writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office and other related software including Maximo, MS Project, scheduling software applications, database concepts and advanced use of spreadsheet automation.
- Knowledge of TTC organizational structure, budget process, operations, policies and practices applicable to the work performed is an asset.
