Heavy Equipment Operator

We're looking for skilled Heavy Equipment Operators who enjoy working outdoors, operating top-notch equipment, and being part of a team that values safety, quality, and teamwork.

What You'll Be Doing

Your Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, backhoes, bulldozers, and rock trucks.
  • Work closely with Foremen, Superintendents, dispatchers, and crew members to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Perform excavation, grading, loading, backfilling, tamping, and material handling tasks.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and pre-operational checks.
  • Monitor fluid levels, lubricate equipment, and perform minor adjustments as needed.
  • Report equipment deficiencies and maintenance requirements to the shop team.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and PEI Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
  • Identify potential safety concerns and help create solutions that keep everyone safe.
  • Support the team and project success wherever needed.

What You Bring
We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has 5+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
  • Enjoys working outdoors in changing weather and site conditions.
  • Takes pride in operating equipment safely and professionally.
  • Is dependable, hardworking, and a strong team player.
  • Can comfortably assist with labour tasks when required (raking, shoveling, site cleanup, etc.).
  • Holds a valid driver's license and has reliable transportation.
  • Class 1 or Class 3 license is considered an asset, but not required.
  • Is willing to work overtime during our busy construction season.
