Full job description

Artificer Inc. is a CWB-certified engineering and fabrication job shop (CSA W47.1) in Brantford, working in Steel — carbon and stainless — and Bus Bar — aluminum and copper — for large industrial customers who depend on us for quality and on-time delivery.

We're hiring machine operators who want to grow into a role that runs across the shop floor — not stay boxed into one station. You'll start in an area where we need help now — Paint, Pack, or Form — and build toward running additional equipment over time, including Laser, Plasma, Saw, Shear, Mill, Ironworker, Blast, and Grind. The goal is operators who can be dropped into any area and get it right, not people who learn one machine and stop.

What you need:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Comfortable converting decimals to fractions (imperial), inches to 16ths, and back
  • Comfortable using a computer to load and run programs on CNC equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Forklift experience an asset (certification provided if you don't have it)
  • Clean G license and box truck experience an asset — some operators may be asked to drive our company truck

What we offer:

  • Full-time, 40 hours/week, benefits starting at 3 months
  • Wage increases tied to how many operations you can run and how well you run them — not tenure
  • Training provided, tailored to the individual
  • A real path to becoming one of the people who keeps the whole shop moving, not just one station in it

If you like learning new skills and want a job where your pay grows as your capability grows, we want to hear from you.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Extended health care

Experience:

  • Metal fabrication: 3 years (required)

Work Location: In person
